MedApplications Review: High-School Products and an Alternative

MedApplications is a Toronto medical-school consultancy that also sells single-application coaching to high-school students: McMaster Health Sciences, the U of T supplements, McGill, and Casper preparation. If you are a Grade 12 searching for them, it is almost certainly one of those products you are pricing. This page is scoped to that piece. AcceptMe is not an alternative for MMI coaching or medical-school admissions, and we say so plainly below; what we compare is the high-school supplementary application, where a $1,295 package and a C$49-a-month coach are competing for the same evening of your time.

What MedApplications is

MedApplications was founded in 2008 and works from 439 University Avenue, 5th Floor, in Toronto. The founders are not named on the site. The core business is medical-school admissions consulting: MMI coaching, Casper preparation, OMSAS application review and multi-year pre-med consulting. Around that core sits a high-school track and a set of single-application products aimed at students applying to undergraduate health programs:

  • Single-application coaching: McMaster Health Sciences (BHSc), the U of T supplementary applications, McGill and OMSAS.
  • Casper preparation in three tiers.
  • MMI preparation in three tiers, for medical-school applicants.
  • Pre-med consulting for high-school and university students, multi-year, in three tiers, the top one with a money-back condition.

Kira Talent, the platform behind most Canadian undergraduate video interviews, is not mentioned anywhere on the site, which fits: the high-school products are about written supplementaries and Casper, not timed video. The site cites Google reviews by name; we could not verify an aggregate rating, so none is quoted here.

What MedApplications costs

Prices are published on the pricing page, which is to the firm’s credit. The products a high-school applicant would look at, checked 13 September 2026:

Product Price
McMaster Health Sciences (BHSc) supplementary application $1,295
U of T supplementary applications $575
McGill application $495
Casper preparation: Starter, Growth, Success $1,095, $1,495, $2,995
Pre-med consulting for high-school and university students, three tiers $3,995, $9,995, $16,995
MMI preparation, three tiers (medical school) $895, $1,595, $4,995
OMSAS application review (medical school) $995

So the one product most Grade 12s will be looking at, McMaster BHSc coaching, is $1,295 for a single application. AcceptMe, with unlimited essay reviews, unlimited timed on-camera and timed written practice and the Story Bank, is C$49 a month, and you cancel the month you submit. A whole application season, every program on your list included, comes to a small fraction of that one package.

What a supplementary-application package can and cannot do

Two things need saying before the comparison. First, McMaster itself: the Health Sciences program’s own FAQ states that supplementary-application preparation services are not endorsed by the program, and that any claim to insider information about how the application is assessed is unfounded. That applies to every consultancy selling BHSc help, MedApplications included, and it is worth reading before paying anyone $1,295. Second, the honest limit of this page: for the MMI, for Casper scoring and for medical-school strategy, MedApplications sells things AcceptMe does not, and AcceptMe does not grade MMI or Casper answers. If that is what you need, this comparison is not for you.

For the high-school supplementary, though, the question is what the package buys. A consultant can give you judgement: whether a story is the right one for the prompt, whether the reader will believe it, whether you have answered what was asked. That is real, and a single-application product is a sensible way to buy it once. What a package cannot buy is the drafts. The McMaster BHSc questions and the U of T supplements reward a specific, honest answer in your own voice, and that answer is arrived at by writing it, having it read, and writing it again, many more times than a fixed-price package can schedule. The same goes for Casper-adjacent practice: the muscle Casper tests, a thoughtful typed answer on a clock, is built by doing timed writes repeatedly and reading feedback on each, not by a session about it.

The research on our research page is about interviews, but the finding transfers: an unguided practice run changed nothing, tips videos changed nothing, and the group that improved was the one that practiced with an automated interviewer and then read feedback on its own recording. Advice about the answer is not the answer. Reps with feedback are.

Where a person still wins

A consultant who has coached health-program applicants since 2008 can do two things AcceptMe cannot: read your tone and presence in the room, and give you judgement on the pre-med route, which programs, which courses and how to apply, and on the MMI and medical-school side that judgement is the whole product. We are honest about both. What a consultant cannot sell is drafts and reps, and a supplementary answer or a timed write is built by doing it many times with feedback each time. The thing to watch for in any per-application package is how much of the answer ends up in an adult’s words; a polished paragraph in the wrong voice is the easiest thing for a reader to spot, and it is putting words in your mouth. AcceptMe comments and never rewrites. The founder’s account of why we built AcceptMe is the argument in full.

Who should hire MedApplications

  • Medical-school applicants facing an MMI, an OMSAS application or a Casper sitting, who want a firm that has coached that exact process since 2008 and publishes what it charges.
  • Families planning a pre-med route from Grade 11 onward who want multi-year strategy across course choices, the undergraduate program and the eventual medical application.
  • A BHSc applicant who has already drafted and redrafted every answer and wants one paid read from someone who sees hundreds of these, with McMaster’s caution about such services in mind.

Who should use AcceptMe instead, or as well

  • Students applying to McMaster Health Sciences, a U of T program with a supplement, or any other program with a written supplementary, a timed written answer or a video interview, at any school in any country, who need to draft, get notes and redraft as many times as it takes.
  • Families for whom $1,295 for one application is out of reach, or whose list has four programs with supplementaries and not the budget for four packages. A season of the coach covers all of them.
  • Clients of MedApplications, or any consultant, who want to arrive at each paid hour having already written and reviewed their answers, so the hour goes on judgement rather than on a first draft.

Start with the McMaster Health Sciences guide, which walks the questions and the way they are read, then the Casper guide for nursing if your program requires it, so you know what the test is before paying for a course. The comparison of Canadian admissions coaching puts MedApplications next to the other firms, and the admissions consultant fees guide collects every published and reported price. Barclay Educational Services is the Hamilton consultant closest to McMaster, and BeMo is the other national firm selling undergraduate and Casper prep; the consultants-by-city guide has the full map. Then paste a draft tonight and read the coach’s notes.
