University of Alberta Application Deadline for Fall 2027

The University of Alberta’s application deadline for most programs is March 1, 2027. That one date isn’t the whole picture, though: admission is rolling, so applying earlier means hearing sooner, and some programs set dates of their own.

What every U of A applicant sends

Canadian applicants start at ApplyAlberta and are then passed to the U of A’s own Launchpad application form; international applicants apply in Launchpad directly. It’s the same ApplyAlberta account you’d use for UCalgary’s application. Most U of A programs ask for nothing beyond the application and your marks.

Because admission is rolling, most Canadian high school applications are assessed within one to two weeks, and highly competitive students can be admitted on final Grade 11 marks alone. Later in the year you report your new semester-one final marks in Launchpad, and the U of A uses them to re-assess you.

What some programs add

The arts programs want more. Art and Design asks for a portfolio and a letter of intent, both Music programs an audition, and Drama Production a letter of intent, references, a resume and an interview. Music and Drama Production also run on later deadlines than the rest, and Nursing makes its decisions in rounds through the year.

Entrance scholarships have their own application in the Awards Hub, closing January 10, 2027. It needs the CCID that arrives a few business days after you apply for admission, so apply for admission first. Admission-based entrance awards are automatic.

Applying in BC as well? UBC’s application and UVic’s application go through EducationPlannerBC instead.

That’s the shape of it. The exact dates depend on your program and where you finish high school, and some haven’t been published yet. AcceptMe’s free Application Planner has every one of them, for the programs you pick.
