Supplementary Application Deadlines: Ontario Timeline 2027

January 15 is the OUAC date and it is the one your school will remind you about. It is also the wrong date for almost every supp app. Ivey is due the same day, McMaster Engineering thirteen days later, Schulich and Rotman on February 1, Queen’s on February 15, and UTSC Management on a day that is different for every applicant. This is every Ontario supplementary application, AIF, video interview and Casper date for Fall 2027 entry in one calendar, followed by an honest answer to the question nobody wants to ask: what if you have already missed one.

How to read this calendar

Every date is for Fall 2027 entry and was checked on the official program page at the time of writing; the page is linked in each row. Where a program had not yet re-posted its 2027 date, the row shows the last cycle’s date marked “last cycle, confirm.” Times are Eastern. Most programs cut off at 11:59 p.m., and Loran cuts off at noon, so read the time as carefully as the date. Add each of your dates to a calendar now with a reminder a week before. Or build a deadline calendar for just your programs in AcceptMe’s application planner: pick the universities and programs you are applying to and it lists only their dates, with prep steps counted back from each one. For everything else a university sets, from scholarships to offer replies, see the full lists of Waterloo application deadlines, U of T application deadlines, Queen’s application deadlines and Western application deadlines.

Two things the calendar hides

The Kira invite has its own lag. Rotman, Schulich, McMaster and Queen’s all send the link to the video platform after OUAC has passed your application to them, which takes anywhere from a few days to two weeks. Apply on January 14 to a program with a February 1 supp app and you may have ten days with the link, not seventeen. The student stuck at 11:40 p.m. on deadline night with a video that will not upload is, most of the time, a student who got the link late and left the recording to the last evening.

Early consideration changes when you hear, not whether. Schulich says outright that later applications are still reviewed. The value of November 23 is a first-round decision, sometimes before the winter break. If your written pieces are not ready, a good February 1 submission beats a rushed November one every time.

“I missed a deadline”

If you have missed a first-choice supp app by twenty minutes or two days and the only question in your head is “am I cooked?”, here is the honest map, program by program, of what the school itself says.

Where there is stated grace

  • UTSC Management says in writing that a late SAF “may still” be considered depending on space and how competitive your file is. Submit it the same day and email admissions to say you have.
  • Schulich early consideration is a soft date; February 1 is the hard one.
  • Laurier’s ABS, Guelph’s Student Profile Form and McMaster Commerce’s form are optional, so a missed date costs you the chance to add context, not the application.
  • U of T Engineering, Rotman and McMaster Engineering early dates are recommendations. Missing them means a later review, nothing more.

Where the school says it is over

  • Queen’s: “Queen’s will not accept late submissions.” That sentence is on the official page, and students who have emailed report getting it quoted back.
  • Waterloo Engineering: AIF or video not in by February 1, “your application will be denied.” The general AIF page adds that submissions “will not be reviewed after the deadline.”
  • U of T Engineering: no Student Profile, “your application will not be considered.”
  • Western Engineering Casper: the listed sittings are the only ones, you can take it once per cycle, and Western will not make an offer without a result.
  • McMaster Engineering and Health Sci, Ivey, Rotman’s February 1: the pages do not promise grace, and you should not assume any.

What to email, and what not to

Send one short email to the program’s admissions address the same day. Three sentences: your name and OUAC reference number, what you missed and by how much, and a direct question: will a submission today still be reviewed? If the platform was genuinely down, attach a screenshot with a timestamp. Do not send a paragraph about how much the program means to you, do not have a parent send it, and do not send it to three different addresses. Then, whatever the reply, complete the submission if the portal still lets you. A late file that exists can be reviewed if someone decides to; a file that doesn’t exist can’t.

The alternate routes

“Deferred,” in Ontario admissions, usually means re-routed to another program at the same school rather than a decision postponed, and that mechanism is also your safety net here. Most universities consider you for your other choices at that school automatically; an incomplete Ivey AEO file does not touch your Western Science application. Beyond that:

  • Ivey: AEO students are only part of each HBA class. The rest enter by applying in second year at Western, from any faculty, on their university marks. Missing AEO delays the route; it does not close it.
  • Queen’s Commerce: internal transfer into Commerce after first year exists but is small and competitive; a realistic alternate is another Ontario business program whose deadline is later on this table.
  • Waterloo, U of T and McMaster Engineering: Queen’s Engineering, York’s Lassonde, Guelph, Ottawa and Carleton admit on grades, and several still accept OUAC additions after February 1, though a late choice is only reviewed if space remains. The no-supp-app guide lists them.
  • McMaster Health Sci: there is no back door; the supp app is the admission. Life Sciences at McMaster and Health Sciences at Queen’s (if that one is still open) are the usual alternates.
The right lesson from a missed deadline is not “be more careful.” It is that every timed piece should be done on a weekday morning at least a week early, on a wired connection, after you have practiced the format enough that nothing about it is new.

Before you close this tab

If you are reading this in October and still unsure what half these rows are, the what-is-a-supp-app guide explains the three formats and which programs use which in about eight minutes. If your list has three Kira programs on it, the guide to Kira Talent interviews tells you what the practice mode does and does not prepare you for, and what happens if your recording fails mid-answer. If a scholarship date above was news to you, the scholarship guide covers what Loran, Schulich Leader and the National awards actually ask for and when the interviews happen. Then get ahead of the calendar: AcceptMe’s custom interviews let you set the prep window and answer clock to match any row on this page, draw an unseen question, and read the coach’s notes on your transcript the same afternoon.
